I thought it was a joke as I read the article in a professional magazine. A new kind of Trust, that I call: The I’m Coming Back Trust. This is for cryogenically preserved bodies.
It makes sense - assume they put you on ice for a few decades, then cure the disease that ailed you, and bring you back again! What happened to your money in the meantime? If you left it to your kids they spent it. Your grandkids may now be older than you; your great-grandkids might be your age.
Maybe you are in what should be the prime of life: 65 and capable. Capable of what? Your job skills are ancient, your finances gone, your family, friends, and contacts long-dead.
The solution: instead of saying, "When I die I leave everything to all my children equally," or whatever you would normally do, The I’m Coming Back Trust requires that the Trustee accumulate all the income for your eventual return, because you will need it. So your kids inherit nothing.
I am always alert to: Who might challenge our plan?
Here: What disgruntled person might NOT sue, claiming to have been cheated ... by a crazy parent/ relative who thought he could come back from the dead!
